RM Maths
RM Maths is an integrated learning resource that is used throughout my GPP school. RM Maths provides personalised Maths support tailored to each child's ability and needs and gives teacher's insight into problem areas for groups and individuals. Regular use not only delivers improvements in pupil's core maths skills but also their confidence and enthusiasm for numeracy.
Each class have some permanent computers and also book time with the laptops and the children take turns over the course of the week to go on the programme, often in the morning, at lunchtime and when they have completed their other work. Each session lasts approximately 15 minutes and the teacher would like the children to go on 3 times per week.
It is audio supported and the children wear headphones to use the resource, so literacy skills are not an issue.
Interestingly, RM Maths was used as part of the provision for children under achieving in numeracy at my Pathways school.
